CritDice
CritDice was a dice roller app for Android by VueSoft LLC. It was removed from the Play Store around 2023–2024. FlowDice is a spiritual successor inspired by what made CritDice great.
What Made It Good
- Calculator-style input using standard dice notation — minimal taps to roll any combination
- No 3D dice animations — results appeared instantly in a large popup
- Material Design — clean, flat, modern UI designed for geeks
- Favorites — save rolls with custom names, single-tap to re-roll, grouped by category
- Roll history — automatic log with re-roll support
- Custom sound effects — configurable per roll result (crit sounds, fumble sounds)
- Context-sensitive buttons — invalid operators disabled based on current input
- Live explanation — human-readable text describing what the current formula will do
Advanced Dice Bag (v2.0)
Version 2.0 added:
- Custom-sided dice (dN)
- Fate/Fudge dice (dF)
- Exploding, compounding, and penetrating dice
- Keep/drop highest or lowest
- Automatic rerolling
- Success/failure counting
