Perkins Crit
The C suffix (capital) maxes one set of damage dice and rolls them again. Named for DM Chris Perkins’ house rule. Guarantees at least maximum single-roll damage.
Examples
| Input | Resolves To |
|---|---|
2d6C | 12 + 2d6 |
d8C | 8 + d8 |
d12C+5 | 12 + d12 + 5 |
Static modifiers are not maxed — only the dice.
Why Use It
Normal crits can feel underwhelming — rolling 4d6 and getting 7 total is disappointing. Perkins crits guarantee a floor of maximum normal damage, making every crit feel impactful.
