In ancient days the Sorcerer Kings were horrible tyrants, power hungry, and willing to cause cataclysms for experiments. When Sol Tarna introduced Divine magic into the world those who followed her rose in revolution against the sorcerer kings overthrowing them after long and bloody conflict. Sol Tarna fell with the last sorcerer king and after her fall The Sacred Flame grew in popularity almost unanimously across the land. However, mageborn continued to be born into the world and in order to prevent the rise of the sorcerer kings in most cases children and adults found to be mageborn practicing magic were executed without trial. Some mageborn were able to create secret communities and academies to continue teaching without following in the path of the sorcerer kings. This is where the Amethyst Academy was born and began to make alliances with Continental Nobility for protection against The Sacred Flame’s wrath. This eventually led to The Second Great Conflict between divine and arcane magics.
