The Edicts of Lumen are large and complicated and nuanced. Amongst the writings a few major points are worth knowing. Firstly, the Edicts give protection to the existence of the Amethyst Academy. The Academy and all mageborn innately forfeit all inheritance, family, property and titles and may not hold governing positions outside of being a chosen Court Mage to advise on magical matters. They have monopoly on magical trade but must offer their services to all people at equal cost and availability. Finally, they have the right to seize any mageborn children to teach them to control their powers and are responsible for the actions of all members of the Academy.
The Sacred Flame are restricted from harming or trying members of the Academy but are promised the full support of all Continental Nobility in the case of the Academy breaking their restrictions. The Sacred Flame are granted the right to audit the activities of the Academy. The Sacred Flame also has banned extraplanar magics and are granted the right to execute any who are found practicing these magics without trial.
The Continental Nobility act as the bridge between the other two. The leaders of the three major nations are each granted powerful artifacts that aid in balancing the power between the nobility and the magical factions. They are also granted the authority to call summits that the leaders of The Sacred Flame and Academy are bound to attend or incur the wrath of the other factions.
