MVP Plan
Goal
Validate that people engage with UV sunscreen visualization and will pay for it. One summer, one location.
MVP: Mirror on a Cart
Hardware (~$500)
- Regular mirror (not two-way)
- Modified UV camera (cheap donor camera + IR/UV filter removal + UV-pass filter)
- Laptop or Raspberry Pi for processing
- Small display (10-15”) mounted beside mirror
- Battery pack
- Cart/stand
What It Does
- Live UV camera feed on screen, mirror beside it
- User looks in mirror, glances at screen to see UV map
- Basic false-color processing (dark = covered, bright = exposed)
What It Doesn’t Do (Yet)
- No two-way mirror overlay
- No depth cameras or walk-by detection
- No payment terminal
- No solar/cellular
- No sunscreen vending
- No forecast projection
Validation Plan
- Roll cart to beaches, farmers markets, community health events
- Offer free demos
- Track: engagement rate, time spent, questions asked, interest in paying
- Demo at a resort for a weekend → gauge B2B interest
Success Criteria
- People stop and engage unprompted
- Repeat visitors on multi-day events
- Verbal willingness to pay for full sessions
- At least one resort/venue expresses purchase interest
Next Steps After Validation

- Build weatherproof enclosure (3D print housing components)
- Add payment terminal and cellular
- Solar power system
- Sunscreen vending integration
- NFC reapply reminder pad
- UV forecast projection feature
